Starting during the summer of 1968 framing houses, I decided to pursue a career as a carpenter. In order to see another facet of the trade I worked in a union millwork shop for the next summer job. After two years of trade school, the next four years were spent serving my apprenticeship as a carpenter. The next seven years were spent serving as a journeyman while working on everything from historic renovations to new construction. For the next three years I was employed with a large commercial firm working on everything from churches to banks and high end residences.
In 1984 I decided to start my own business and did new construction, remodeling and restoration work. The business was growing, and in October of 1989 the business purchased ten acres of commercial land in Pipersville to build a new cabinet shop. In 1998 the business name was changed to Cabin Run Woodworking as the Cabin Run creek flows through the property. Today the business primarily engages in interior and exterior millwork. We work with a wide variety of fine architectural millwork. This consists of full custom creations, renovations, and replications of everything from doors, to windows, to flooring.
